Special Tribute to my beloved Covenant Brother, the late Archbishop David R. Huskins
It is with the deepest sense of honor, love, and respect that I write these brief words in memory of one of God’s Kingdom Generals and Apostolic Prophetic Voices, my Covenant Brother and Friend, the late Archbishop David R. Huskins. He was known as The Dreamer, he encouraged us to set great goals and dream big dreams. A man with friends in all places: low and high and around the globe. But he was my Covenant Brother. We shared the same dreams, visions, that God birthed in our hearts to see the reality of God’s Kingdom extended and established through covenant relationships. I would not be the person I am today without the covenant relationships that God has brought into my life. Those who have helped shape my thinking, believed in me, and supported my path. And one of those God-ordained, rare air covenant relationships was Archbishop David R. Huskins. His life taught us the importance of The Purpose and Power of a Covenant Heart. As he would often say,
“Not one of us has it all together, but together we have it all.” – DRH
He was a powerhouse of revelation, ideas, creativity, and most of all, unconditional love. His love for people of all backgrounds was truly unconditional. And that’s the only kind of love that’s real! It is a display of the Agape of God. It makes me think of what Victor Hugo once wrote: “The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved.” You really felt loved by this extraordinary man of God!
His messages and books on the Kingdom, Covenant, and Grace impacted millions around the world and continues to do so today. You see, “Covenant is remembered long after sacrifice is forgotten.” As Thomas Campbell once said, “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” Today we remember this great General, my Covenant Brother and Friend. He’s not gone, just out of sight. His life and legacy lives on in our hearts and will last forever!
